Welcome to the website for the Blithfield Estate. The 2,350 acre estate is in the heart of rural Staffordshire and is owned by South Staffs Water. The estate includes the Blithfield Reservoir and woodlands, making it a haven for wildlife and a tranquil spot away from the hustle and bustle, making it an ideal centre for recreational activities, including walk, fishing and sailing. We also have a successful education centre on the estate offering environmental-based lessons from Key Stage 1 to 5.
Designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, due to its national importance as a wildfowl habitat, this gives legal protection for these birds, leading to prosecution for intentional or reckless disturbance, destruction or damage to them. Visitors are welcome to take a stroll along our woodland walks, which are open during daylight hours.
Please note: Much of the estate is not open to the public in order to protect the wildlife. The reservoir is also an operational centre for South Staffs Water and as a result access to many areas is restricted to authorised personnel and permit holders only due to operational and safety reasons.
