Membership & Permits
In order to fish at Blithfield Reservoir you must obtain a fishing permit from the Estate Office. You will also have to be already in possession of a valid Environment Agency Rod Licence.
There are two main options by which you may enjoy the pursuit of fly-fishing at Blithfield Reservoir.
1. Become a member of Blithfield Anglers.
If you’re a serious angler then this is by far the best option. For the equivalent of less than £3 per day you can enjoy over 11 miles of superb bank fishing and the opportunity to hire a boat to take advantage of the excellent top of the water sport.
2. Fish at Blithfield Reservoir as a Guest.
For only £20 per day you may fish at Blithfield as a guest of South Staffs Water. This entitles you to take 8 fish and then continue on a catch and release basis provided you use barbless or debarbed hooks.

- Personal Membership = Membership of one person
- Couples Membership = Membership of married or co-habiting couple.
- Concessionary membership is only available for those who were concessionary members during the 2006 and 2007 season.
The catch limit of 8 fish killed per day remains, subject to not exceeding the weekly totals given in the table above. Catch and release is permitted once the limit has been reached provided barbless or debarbed hooks are used. This remains under review.
2008 is the second year of the phasing out of concessionary memberships. Hence, 2006 and 2007-season concessionary members who rejoin will still be able to fish on weekdays and weekends with membership charges being phased during 2008, reaching ‘Personal’ or ‘Couples’ membership rates for the 2009 season onwards.
As a member, should your annual quota be achieved before the end of the season on 30th October 2008 you may continue fishing by purchasing weekly permits at a cost of £30 per week, during which time normal catch limits will apply.

- *= Junior Guest = Experienced child up to the age of 16-years and supervised by an experienced adult. Inexperienced children can fish at no charge with any fish caught being deducted from the permitted catch of the accompanying adult.
