Learning activities - key stage 3 & above
There are many activities we can deliver at our Education Centre to support your Key Stage 3 curriculum requirements. We believe that the best approach is to talk to you in order to plan and agree a day of activities specifically for you. There are also areas within the BTec and Diploma curricula that we can link into. Below are listed some bullet points for the various Key Stages we can cover in a programme of study but please contact us to discuss your particular requirements.
The Network Challenge
Your challenge is to design, cost, build and test a water supply network, simulating a real life engineering/business studies project. You will complete a fully functioning water network and 'supply' customers with water at a satisfactory flow from tower to tap at the end of which real water must flow to all South Staffs Water customers. The Challenge can be completed as a whole morning or afternoon activity and is suitable for all age groups from Y7 as extension activities can be added. Ideally carried out in groups of six, we have capacity for 36 pupils to participate at any one time.
